Hillel Shabtai
About the artist.
Hillel Shabtai is a Montreal–Israel-based DJ and producer. With a mother who was a backup singer for Celine Dion, Hillel grew up surrounded by music and spent over a decade on the dancefloor, immersing himself in the sounds and rhythms that would later shape his own sound.
Hillel is a sonic storyteller, guiding people back to their truth, their purpose, and their higher connection through rhythm and flow. Fusing deep, hypnotic grooves with a sacred sense of intention, his sets are portals — to presence, to unity, to remembering who we truly are.
Born in Canada and now based in Israel, Hillel’s journey has always been about more than music. With a deep spiritual foundation and a calling to help people access flow states, his mission is to help others reconnect to God, to themselves, and to their purpose through the ecstatic power of dance. His music carries an energy that is both primal and transcendent — the kind that moves bodies and souls in the same breath.
Over the past decade, Hillel has been honing his skills as a producer, vocalist, and DJ — perfecting his craft and learning how to sonically command a room. As a producer, he draws inspiration from the ancient and the futuristic, layering tribal percussion, soulful vocal chops, and cosmic textures into bold, immersive soundscapes. His sound walks the line between earthy and ethereal — made for golden hour rooftops, sunrise desert sets, and peak-time spiritual raves.
Since launching his artist project, Hillel has been steadily building momentum, sharing his vision through international bookings, underground sets, and a growing catalog of original music. He’s already caught the attention of global dance music icons like Damian Lazarus and Jamie Jones.
With plans to tour internationally, release more boundary-pushing music, and continue building a global community of seekers, dancers, and lovers of truth — Hillel is just getting started.
Hillel Shabtai operates at the intersection of rhythm, ritual, and altered states. Born in Canada and now based in Israel, his work treats the dancefloor as a place of return rather than escape.
Shaped by years spent on underground dancefloors, his sets unfold slowly and deliberately, drawing dancers into deep hypnotic currents where time fades and presence sharpens. The grooves are primal, the energy intentional, the atmosphere charged with something ancient and raw.
Rooted in stripped down rhythms, rolling percussion, and cosmic textures, Hillel builds spaces where bodies move and minds surrender. There is no performance, only presence and connection to the intensity of the moment.
His music is played by artists around the world such as Damian Lazarus, Jamie Jones, and Michael Bibi, yet the work remains anchored in something quieter and more demanding. A devotion to the art. A devotion to self. A devotion to truth.
